Room 5

Staff: Heidi and Bec

 Welcome to room 5. We have a nine students and all enjoy learning and playing.

During Term 3 the theme in the Junior School is 'Fairy Tales and Fantasy'. In Literacy, Room 5 have been listening to the story of 'The Three Little Pigs', students have enjoyed making pig and wolf masks and making their own story of the Three Little Pigs.

In Numeracy, students have been learning about measurement and describing objects according to their size.

Room 5 have a weekly shopping trip to Karingal Hub to purchase ingredients for their Wednesday cooking class. Student have been developing their spreading skills and have prepared toast, crumpets and toasted sandwiches. The focus for term 3 is to prepare simple snacks such a pizza muffins and nachos.

Room 5 participate in an Integration Program at Karingal Heights Primary School where the students take part in a literacy session and have the opportunity to mix with students at playtime.

During free play the students enjoy spending time on the computer, playing with dolls, tea set, puzzles, cars and reading books.
